ALPHA BIOTECH : The program to successfully scale your industrial biotech innovation
Are you developing an innovative solution in industrial biotechnology?
ALPHA Biotech helps you de-risk your scale-up and accelerate your path to market.

The Grand Est Region is one of Europe’s leading bioeconomy hubs, officially recognized as a “Regional Innovation Valley.”
It brings together a world-class academic, scientific, and industrial ecosystem and hosts more than 150 bioeconomy startups, 40% of which originate from outside the region — a strong indicator of its international attractiveness.
Industrial biotech startups face major challenges:
- Access to pilot and demonstration facilities
- Scaling from lab to industrial level
- Regulatory constraints
- Securing growth capital
To help startups overcome these barriers, the Grand Est Region has structured ALPHA Biotech, a dedicated scale-up support program built on:
- The industrial platforms of CEBB and ARD (TRL 3 to 9) The unique industrial site of the Bazancourt-Pomacle biorefinery
- A consortium combining scientific, industrial and financial expertise
ALPHA Biotech offers a structured support program built around three complementary pillars to help startups at TRL 4–8 successfully reach industrial deployment.
The program has already demonstrated impact through a 2025 pilot phase.
Verbatim « Having all these stakeholders regularly mobilized around our project saved us a significant amount of time and clearly contributed to our decision to establish operations in the Grand Est. »
